lol - yes - contrary to popular belief - i did have some hair left - granted my receding hairline is on the verge of really having "no-line" at all anymore - i finally thought it was time to stop with the comb-over and embrace my inner baldness. I now look quite dashing in a bald kind of way, others would describe me as adorable and/or handsome - take your pick.
fyi...when Juliet said: "Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo", she wasn't asking for the whereabouts of her beloved...she was asking why he was named "Romeo" (i.e. Montague)...but I'm sure you all knew that, I just wanted to be a dork :P
This is why one should refrain from picking and choosing quotes out of context. Wherefore means why. Here are the original lines:
O Romeo, Romeo! wherefore art thou Romeo? Deny thy father and refuse thy name; Or, if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love, And I'll no longer be a Capulet
u know what would be a good title.... brother where art thou?... again a very popular phrase... and more apt given the situation... and if seen from the context of the movie where the phrase is originally taken from... it works aswell cuz its abt 3 men that come together for no good reason but end up doing great things with their talent....in their case it was singing and in you guys case its writing blog....*subtle compliment*... too bad none of you are remotely even close to as good looking as George Clooney (hes the lead in the movie)... aite hope my 2 cents made sense... adios
wow - This has indeed become quite a contentious topic of discussion - Romeo seems to hold a spot that is near and dear in many a ladies hearts it seems....
Guys - i think we should note this down for future reference and exploit it somehow....
lol, i must hang my head in shame for you guys got me well. i had no idea wherefore meant why and not where. wow, now you guys know i never studied shakespeare at least! (i mean, whatever i did, i failed)
O Brother Where Art Thou...good movie! That song was my theme song for an entire summer! George Clooney at his finest ;)
I agree Madiha, it IS sad that this has the most posts! I guess everything else that has been posted thus far hasn't really been that interesting. I guess it takes people disappear to get the conversation rolling. I applaud the selection of this topic. You deserve a gold star!

ReplyDeleteWhen Hamza cried: "Romeo, Romeo, where art thou?" and followed it up with Come on AB, Mash...
I never realized that AB and I were Hamza's Romeos.
I'm very humbled indeed. Thank you Hamza. You da man! And I am your Romeo. Well, one of them.

ReplyDeleteAb, I must say this is indeed a smart move on your part--learning from a fellow bretheren's mistakes.
